  1. Why need so many additional functions? Why not stick with the 'red dot on app icon + notification banner that appear at the top of the screen for 5 seconds' approach?. If i want to know what is the notification all about, I just go into the app.

  2. They kinda did but showing them all is kinda annoying. As an android user i am happy apple did this because there's a lot of apple users out there that love this feature that android have so seeing apple do this also will help android as well. competition and learning from your competitors is what drives the industry forward

  3. I'm doing a full switch into the apple ecosystem this Sept after being on android for 5 years. Hopefully apple doesn't disappoint

  4. God, why are people so unfair? Apple notifications are perfect… Well not as perfect as they were prior to iOS 10 when they made them less readable (by making them look more like android.) Now they are making them far worse by grouping them, so that you are not able to read them without touching the phone. I HOPE this will be an optional setting. I use both iPhone and Android every day and Android notifications are completely useless and extremely annoying. You can use apps such as Floatify to alleviate the problem to an extent but the apps are not as perfect as native iOS notifications.

  5. Dieter has been getting way better the past year or two. He sounded too simple a la lay person borderline lazy before but now he sounds practical and knowledgeable. He managed to find that fine line!

  6. I don't know I never get any notifications so it was never an issue for me.
Like for SnapChat I'll let those notifications run loose, but messages I'll turn off some people from the Notification Center, and only have them show as a red dot on the iMessage app. or insta I just turn off entirely. etc.

maybe y'all should be proactive instead of yelling at apple to fix a problem that you can, if you tried?

  7. Great video, but I disagree on the “manage” notifications button and your thoughts of it. While it is good to be able to change the settings quickly, this is something you only really do once in a while, so the button will be more of a nuisance when viewing a notification than anything else. We don’t download new apps that often – at least I don’t. I’d just as soon spend 30 seconds in settings.

  8. What’s frustrating for me is they already had ‘grouped notifications’ but they removed it with iOS 10. And now they’re adding it again as a ‘new’ feature.

  9. Owning a Oneplus 6 and enjoying Stock Android 8.1, I can't understand this stupid mess of notifications in iOS at all… also this deviding of lock screen and notifications, wtf is this? How can people use this and not get completely annoyed by this?
Im not an Apple hater by any means, but this is ridiculous…

  10. I think Apple has sufficiently fixed the notifications on iOS 12. Yeah, they're still a far cry from Android's notifications, but they solved the major issues… which would be enough if they didn't do it so late since people wouldn't have upped their demands so much by seeing Android's notifications.
