iPhone 12 – An Android User's Perspective!

I LOVE using Android, but I decided to use the iPhone 12 for a few weeks to see whether or not I’d be tempted to make the switch permanently!

  1. Sold my galaxy s20 and got an iPhone 12, best user experience ever, phones aren’t better than androids but apps optimization are way better making the experience better in my experience, it depends in what you use and how you do it. For me both OS are good, is a matter of choice. For me iOS is better, now that I am over 32 years old I don’t care about customization or things like that, I just want a good phone that pairs with my iPad and my Mac mini

  2. Ok ! Stopped just there … finger prints? Normal people who pay for and look after their phones use cases to protect them. It's only you clowns who get free be phones who talk about finger prints… the real users do not see them….

  3. I'm surprised how ppl don't understand how notifications work on the iPhone. I've always had a nexus or pixel phone. Bought my first iPad 6 months ago. It's very easy.

There's 3 types of iPhone notifications and you can chose of your phone shows 1, 2 or all 3 of them.

Lockscreen- when your phone's licked notifications come up here.

Notification center- swiping up from your lock screen or swiping down when your phone is unlocked for these type of notifications

Banner- this is what you see when you're on your phone and the banner goes across the top of the screen.

Example- I can have banner only for messages and they won't show up on the lock screen or notification center, only as a banner when using the phone.

I'm sure you can figure out the rest. The iOS notifications are actually quite awesome once you understand this.

  4. I've been an Android fan for a very long time, and decided I'd give the iPhone 12 a shot. Mainly due to the square design and the fact you an now somewhat customize your home screen. I've always been a fan of the iOS UI design, and using it makes me love it so much more. I've found apple pay useful when using apps. I was also skeptical about Face ID… But using it has been quite pleasant.

The only drawbacks I would say is custom keybaords, lack of alternative messaging apps and no iOS support for some apps I've used on Android. I love using the google keyboard on Android, and you can somewhat get it on iOS, but it's merely a skin. You're also stuck with the default messaging app, which is a bummer. I've used and loved Textra on Android and wish I could use it on iOS.

All in all, solid experience coming from Android, and I may stick with it until something really cool from the Android scene gets released.

  5. Long term Google user…pixel1 then Pixel 3! Looking to jump onto the iPhone12 for a change of scenery…and that it seems iPhone just lasts longer (my pixels start to decline big time around 2 years). I've been on the fence for a week and still struggling!
