iPhone 12 Pro Max Vs Pro Camera – Portrait Mode 2021

It’s that time of year again where I put the new iPhone against a real camera and see the improvements Apple has made. What do you think? Would you still need a real camera or could the new iPhone 12 Pro work for you?

Thanks to @marissaemma, @BriSchof, @Joseph_ Brock_ for helping out on this video.

If you are looking for the Tempered Glass screen protector that covers the notch I’m using this one:
I’m using the iPhone 12 Pro max 128gb Graphite:…

  1. I think we all know that cameras are better than the iPhones. Specially when it comes to portraits. With that being said, it doesn’t mean the iPhone camera is bad… it has gotten better and better by time and hopefully will continue to get better over time… overall iPhone has a great camera for daily use.

  2. In a few years i think i'll be ditching my DSLR and Mirrorless Cameras with their heavy lenses. Sartphone Cameras are really really getting close to what Professional Cameras can do

  3. Why do you say that the hdr ceates a fake look if it actually shows how the sky actually looked ?
From my point of view it only looks fake if the color reproduction doesn't work properly

  4. In portuguese:

  5. Lots of you said it in a manner of speaking, but I'm gonna reiterate… Which takes better photos, iPhone 12 Pro Max or Sony A7 series? Neither, photographers take photos, not cameras and phones. The skill level you put into getting the shot will greatly determine the type of image you get out of your device. And these are so professionals for sure (Lee, the model, and the videographer too!). Still, you can see the difference most in the strands of her hair and her iris.

  6. iPhone flash: No
    iPhone real aperture adjustment: no
    iPhone shutter speed: no
    iPhone low shutter lag: No
    iPhone large prints: No
    iPhone lifespan: 2 years

iPhone costs £1200. You can get a full frame and 50mm lens for the same or less second hand and it's value would be at least 50% after 2 years or last 10 years at least

  7. Most phone cameras are hit or miss. There was one review that compared S21 Ultra and iPhone 12 Pro Max, the dynamic range of the two are inconsistent. Sometimes S21 is better sometimes it's 12 that takes the cake. I still prefer a normal camera's image quality. Can't really compete with the DOF regular camera has to offer.

  8. The point is the Sony a7 is a full Frame the iPhone has a tiny little señor, the point that the iPhone is out beating the on some photo goes to show you that the iPhone is the better camera, its smaller and always on you and its also the future of cameras as the sony is the past
