OBD FUSION review- on iphone 6 with an ELM 327

In car review of the OBD fusion app. This is another paid obd2 app, like DashCommand. I explore its interface, and show you how it works when the car is in motion.

  1. Nothing worse than wasting time to watch someone who clearly doesn't know how to use a device sit there and figure it out in real time. How about reading the manual and setting it up THEN showing people what it can or can't do?

  2. No lag at all on a 2014 GMC Acadia and a 2015 Accord hybrid. Using an iCar 2 dongle. V Gate brand. 5 star rating in my experience. Wi-fi version. Bluetooth ones may have some lag.

  3. i have a few questions.. I'm using this setup in another vehicle but i have an old iphone 6 not in use.. I heard i don't need service but since i don't need service which ELM do i need? bluetooth or WIFI? I'm guessing bluetooth since i need service for WIFI correct? thanks in advance…

  4. re the lag time, what about Settings-> preferences-> fast polling-> ON. You might also try Dwell Time (not sure what this does). It is settable from 0 sec up to 250 msecs.

  5. Ty very much for the video as i have a bluetooth obd2 that i been using with android and i almost bought this program so i could just use my iphone but it wouldn't of not worked! Ty for letting me know i need a wifi obd2 to work with my iphone.

  6. You mention at the start of the video that you're 'supposed' to set a static IP address. Yet you didn't, thinking all was fine because it appeared to connect while giving disfunctional response. Did you ever try doing as they recommend and see if it fixes the response lag?

  7. I have the same app, for like 6 months and also the same scan tool and mine is lightning fast, iPhone and everything. The live scan is hardly delayed at all, it was faster than the Bluetooth and dash commander I tried before. You have to customize everything to get the most out of this application and it works very well in my opinion

  8. The static IP and DNS is so that your phone doesn't try to get internet over WiFi. It switches to LTE/3G when you do that so you can connect to the web.

  9. I use the obd2 fusion app with the Veepeak dongole with the power button and its works perfect with no delay. I also like the fact that the Veepeak piece is black which matches my interior. It's connected via wi-fi, to an iPhone 6s. 5 stars!

  10. I'm assuming there's something up with your OBD2 reader. I have this app and it is nowhere near as delayed/slow as yours is. I'm using an ELM327 WiFi reader off Amazon. It took a bit to get it working with the app (figuring our the correct configuration settings), but it works great.
