  1. As much as I love the apple pencil and the ipad pro, the Samsung's Note 8 IS the only SERIOUS option for pro level artwork in the pocket and on the go. Seriously, I had an iphone x with the adonit pixel pro, and while the workflow with procreate pocket was pretty good, the moment I tried the Note 8 with the S-Pen and Infinite Painter there was no comparison at all.

The day apple decide adds compatibility with the apple pencil to the iPhone, the balance will undoubtedly shift, but at the moment of writing this comment, I do think that the best stylus and phone combo is the S-Pen and the Note 8.

  2. I use two capacitive disc-style stylii with my iPad Pro for apps that do not support a Bluetoith stylus as without a Bluetooth connection from within a non-compatible Bluetooth stylus app, my third party, Bluetooth stylus will shut itself off after ten minutes without an actual Bluetooth app connection.

I use either a 4-5 year old HEX3 JaJa which STILL works all of my iPads, across 3 or 4 still compatible iOS drawing apps OR an Adonit Pro 3 stylus as my “backup”, travel stylus.

The HEX3 JaJa which STILL works with 3 or 4 popular iOS drawing apps as a smart stylus.
Instead of using Bluetooth, its uses high frequency sound waves picked up the iPad’s microphone for both writing velocity (speed), pressure sensing AND for palm rejection.
In unsupported apps, it just works, predominantly as a dumb, capacitive stylus.
Since this uses the microphone in an iPad, the HEX3 JaJa stylus works with ALL iPads and the few compatible apps left.

FYI (and many artists and non-artist do not know this),
With dumb or “active” battery powered, capacitive type stylus, you can purchase inexpensive, special isolating “non-electrical conducting” lycra material drawing/writing gloves (thess come in 1, 2 or 3 finger varieties and in single or multiple glove packs) that you can wear that will allow a user to place their hand or side of hand on a tablet screen and still draw or write without an issue.
Also, the other plus with these special drawing/writing gloves is the for third party smart Bluetooth stylus and compatible apps, the glove significantly improves an apps palm rejection.
I use these special gloves when using any drawing/writing apps that I like, but do not have any Apple Pencil or other third party Bluetooth stylus support.

  3. Hi, there. Thank you for the reviews. I'm looking for a less expensive stylus that still fits in the Apple Pencil slot of my ipad pro's case. Does this one fit in the little slot on your case? Thank you!
