I found an omission from the video. When you use "Fill in Pencil Marks" if you have a setting of "Pencil Marks: Manual" when you set a value Sudoku Joy will not automatically remove possible candidates for cells sharing a house with the value you just set. To make this happens automatically the way most people expect, from the main menu go to "Settings". Scroll down to "Pencil Marks", touch it, and make sure it is set to "Auto Pencil". This way when you set a value it will make sure the pencil marks are updated appropriately.
