If its recording before the photo, it means that your camera is always recording…
How is the iPhone able to travel back in time? These devices are always recording. ALWAYS! This is why the OS takes up so much space on your phone.
My Live Photo has sound, now it doesn’t?? Phone volume is up, but still nothing. Any advice?

Apple just does it WRONG!!! Samsung records a short video up till the time the photos is taken. The live photo when played can be saved as independent photos as well in the case you like the images it captured prior to the original photo being taken. iPhone only allows you view the live photos as a short video. USELESS.

You might want to talk a little faster (sarcastic). Also, don't start a video with "Hey guys." Do a quick intro of what the video is about such as, "If you have an iPhone 6 or higher, you may have noticed the 'Live Photo" feature in your camera app. If you're not acquainted with this feature, here's what it's all about." Take about 20 mph off of your speaking speed and it's much easier to follow.
