MyMedia can only play what your iDevices supports playing, which includes .m4v, .mp4, and .mov. Other file types won't work. Or perhaps the file is corrupt?

To download apps available only to North America from another country, you will need to create an iTunes account with an US address and with an American credit card. If you don't have an American credit card, you can purchase a US iTunes gift card on ebay and setup an iCloud account using a random US address and the gift card.
