You do know that the 'x' on the zoom values means multiplication don't you? So it's 1 times, 2 times, 5 times etc. Not 1 'ex' etc

Just upgraded from an iPhone 6s to the 12 Pro Max. I have been using my phone to record myself reading chapter books to students-so basically I am a talking head. My first recording distorted my chest at the bottom of the frame and the picture looked fine on play back, but when uploading to YouTube, very overexposed. Any suggestions?

Ok, so I use my iPhone camera as a work tool, I'm a home inspector. I am sometimes taking pictures in attics or crawlspaces. I have the 12 Pro Max and the flash never seems to operate anymore, it always seems to switch to night mode?? when in darker places. How do I turn night mode off and go back to using the flash? I've checked and the flash is set to auto. My issue is when it's in night mode and I don't realize it I take the photo and start moving the phone before the picture was taken and I get a blurry image. Good vid and thanks for the answer!
