Don't forget about VPNs and Firewalls. Oh and never use Google. BTW, "they" can even track your location without using your GPS by using the time zone, accelerometer, barometer and magnetometer. Interesting research on this from Princeton. It's probably best that you just get used to the fact that with smartphones, privacy doesn't exist.
