  1. Hi!! I just wanna thank you for the great guide. Following other guides I pulled and tore a ribbon on my first LCD installation because it looked shorter and I did not understand how. Your guide and clear explanation just cleared it all up, now I have new, working LCD 🙂

  2. Hi Neil, Great guide, really helped. Phone screen now sorted – your clear explanation really inspires confidence and your helpful tips 'n tricks make the whole process painless.
    Many thanks indeed.
    Nick

  3. Hi Have changed my iPhone 4 screen / digitizer only to find that parts of the touch screen don't work, what do you think I have done wrong. Denise

  4. I wish you would have said HOW IMPORTANT it is to be VERY careful removing the cable from the speaker to the motherboard. I had changed the screen before with another video just fine, now a year later, find myself changing it again but couldn't find the first video. This time, I wasn't warned about the chip, I broke it off, and now my phone is junk. I knew something was important, but didn't pay enough attention. My own fault, but no real warning either.

  5. be careful guys…the part when he says one last paranoid look to see if the cables are through when he is putting the new screen back on is the part that fu**ed me…CHECK THAT TWICE!!!! I didn't check it twice so my cable broke…and mind the home button it's a bitch when assembling the new screen…
all in all after two/three hours with me it is going to the shop 🙁 all that good will and enthusiasm just got pooped on.

  6. Do not remove the dock! I tore the home button cable trying to remove, only to find out that this doesn't need to be removed to replace screen!

  7. The whole thing was great took me about 2 hours mainly because of the crap tools sent with my new screen (a good set of precision screwdrivers advised) and the only problem I had was removing the home button cause "Nick" didn't say until after he had removed it (and me) that if you're only replacing the screen you don't need to remove this!!! thanks Nick try telling people before you take it out. All in all if you follow video and pause a few times you'll do fine

  8. I did this replacement and the music is playing & the vibration works but the screen is completely blank.
Any help as to what I should check first would be appreciated. I've done this before successfully but this time not so much.
Thanks in advance for any help as to which connection to start with.

  9. i dropped my phone and the screen went black but it still worked i was told it was the LCD connection so i took my phone apart and followed this video then put it all back together and it turned my screen on. thanks so much! i would of had to pay 200 bucks for a new one.

  10. Thank you Sir, 6 hours and 15 mins, my first attempt of any major DIY in my life and I found a mammoth one too! it was scary but now when the lights came back on, atleast i was fortunate enough to see the success at the end, your right, one needs to have some balls to get in there!!

  11. Word of wisdom – be extra extra careful with the screen ribbon cable. I broke mine the first time because it was folded underneath and after giving it a gentle tug it snapped the whole connector off! make sure the ribbon is straightened out first if it seems too short. Also, the other connectors will get in the way when you lay the logic board back down, dont bend it down! Some Iphone 4's have an extra hidden screw under black tape at the top (Verizon). It will come out easy if you got allofthem

  12. True story mate,I have done both and on 3Gs was just 5 minutes of fun to change the LCD and the Screen Digilizer, but on 4 was just a nightmare and one step from the grave!
