iPhone Price Changes

Andrew Seely (@andrewseely) asked: “Is a $99 iPhone 4 more of a game changer than the iphone 4S?”

The changes in price for the iPhone 3GS and 4 is a pretty tempting offer for any iPhone holdout. The iPhone 3GS is still a very capable phone, and being free with a two-year contract will certainly convince more people to make the switch.

Whether or not the iPhone 4 price drop is more of a game changer…

  1. Hey chris , does iphone 4s can be activated without a sim card on ? and if the answer is yes, do i have to activate the sim card 2 ? or all that activacion proces is for de apple products , does not have anything to do do with the sim ?

    Thanks in advance

  2. I never understood why people cheap on on buying there phone that there committed to for 2 years (3 in Canada!), just to save $100 or so. the standard phone plan including data is like at least $50-$60 a month(at min). After 2 years that's about $1320 and 3 years about $1980. Why wouldn't you shell out a little more cash up front when ur about to pay a shit ton in monthly bills. My plans $79 a month after 3 years that's $2844. I want the best of the best at the time.

  3. Ugh my EVO 4g's camera sucks, it doesn't pick up.the color and light lime my friends iPhone 4. My black lab looks like a big blotch. Switching to 4s after having bberry storm, Droid a850, Droid x, and EVO. I need something that works all the time.

Yes, since I would have to have said phone for a couple years I am not going to want one that is already two years old or even sixteen months old to save so little in the overall total costs of owning an iPhone. If I have to worry about an extra hundred dollars for a smart phone I personally feel I should not be buying one as the $1,700-$2,000 two year phone bill would be much more of an issue.

  5. Why does it take Samsung so long to bring the Galaxy SII to the US. In Austria (Europe) it´s available since march.
    I have an iPhone 4 and it cost me 0€ with a 30€ (41$) /month plan.

  6. And yes, more iPhone 4s will be sold between now and a year from now, as more people move towards smartphones in general. But if the price point of $99 had been set two years ago, I doubt it would have made a difference because if you add on the price of the two year contract, well, it adds up.

  7. Whats the difference between SIRI & Microsoft Tellme ? Which is better ? I knw SIRI is an active A.I , but what about mircosoft Tellme ?
My windows pals are gang-banging me because i'm an apple user , and acusing apple of copying == Siri is better right ?

  8. For a $1,700-$2,000 two year contact it makes more sense to purchase at least the iPhone 4 because the 3GS is going to be rather outdated before their contract is up.
