In order to turn off the iPhone X it requires a two key combination unlike previous iPhone models. You press and hold both the volume up button and power button at the same time. Keeping holding until your see the shut down menu. Then swipe right on the power off screen.
You can also use the volume down and power button but remember you need to press and hold both volume down and power button (or siri button) the simutaneously until you see the shut off screen. .
