iPhone X OLED Screen Total Teardown Analysis



REWA LAB has conducted a deeper teardown on iPhone X OLED screen Recently. After separation, you will find the differences between iPhone X display and the screens of previous iPhone models.
1. iPhone X display comes with different driver IC bonding technique. iPhone X applies COF, while previous iPhone applies COG.
2. iPhone X screen digitizer has its 3D touch module adhered behind OLED backplate.
3. The 3D touch module of iPhone X is bonded to the OLED panel.

  1. Is there any possibility of hiding front camera and sensors under the display like in-display fingerprint sensor??? So that full screen phones without notches or pop up cameras can come in future???

  2. I wish Apple would manufacture their own OLEDs. It is sad to see that Apple has to rely on Samsung or any other to produce their products.

  3. Now I realise why we can't have the foldable phone as of yet……we have the foldable screens but foldable hardware that's where problem lies….. batteries processor chips all are solid….I guess it's that par where work should be done….

  4. I only watched this video to see if it was true that the OLED panel is folded on itself like Apple illustrated. (In their illustration it’s even displaying light on the folded section). This video unfortunately didn’t answer the question.
