  1. The funny thing is that with the help of the LIDAR, you can easily follow the users by scanning their apartments)) Gradually, the user will go around with the iPhone most of the apartment and that's it)

  2. Finally something I expected phones to be capable of odd 10 yrs ago… too late now.

Where are the darn AR monocles and all-round QR codes that change how ads work when walking down the streets?

  3. It is not as simple as the video shows. I have the Iphone 12 Pro Max and this application crashes constantly, the accuracy of scanning the object is very low. I ended up buying my iphone because of this video and now I feel cheated.

  4. Few years ago, when 3D printer became affordable. Seller was so exciting that thinking what big impact it would cause. After that nothing happened. Because very few people know 3D modeling.
This LIDAR function is funny but what next? For measuring or AR furniture placement, ask yourself how often you do that.
Similar thing is 360 degree camera, how many people are using right now.
Unless one day this LIDAR can scan a very nice one for 3D print and most of the phone support depth mapping photo, otherwise people would only use it at the first 10 mins when they can the new phone.

  5. Where can I download some Easily shared 3d scans in iMessage & AR Quicklook using the USDZ format and Additionally export scans in popular formats such as OBJ, GLTF, GLB, DAE, and STL?

Also exported model as a raw point cloud in formats: PTS, PCD, PLY, and XYZ.

    I'm looking for sample files

  6. Apple rocks. They know how to make an amazing user experience and ecosystem. I used to be one of those tech people who thought it was cool to diss Apple. Once in got on the Apple train there’s no going back. Their user experience focus is the best in the game.
