This is a classic Matterport move – a company that has little respect for the people who actually bring the spaces to life.
Matterport sees themselves as a B2B company and have no concern for the well-being of their technicians in the slightest. Since the inception of this company you can see the overarching tone of greed that looms over everything they do. The reason for this app is to ultimately get rid of the Matterport technicians so they can market directly to Real Estate Agents / Brokerages / Developers / Etc. This is RJ Pittman giving a big middle finger to anybody who was dumb enough to buy an overpriced Matterport Pro / Pro2.
Let's face it, the Matterport cameras are overpriced garbage, but the product itself (Matterport platform) is garbage as well. The company essentially holds you hostage to their membership plan where you continually pay monthly for hosting models that you've scanned on their $3500 camera. These are models that you've also already paid for because the monthly subscription doesn't include unlimited scans. Yes, that's right. You pay per month… PLUS an additional scan cost… and then you still need to pay if you decide you no longer want to be a Matterport technician to keep the tour live.
I'm so done with this greed factory, snake oil, garbage. You're disgusting people.

si pero no se puede descargar los resultados solo se pueden navegar en la web de matterport. yo queria descargar el dollhouse que te generan los tours en matterport capture pero te condiciona a que solo se puede descargar con la camara matterport pro y la licencia profecional. aun genere un dollhouse con las camaras 360 estos no se pueden descargar.

Already tried the app… for a simple scan (aka panorama) i needed to take 12 photos in my iPhone XS. For a complete scan (360º) it takes around 30 photos. Now try to make a Virtual Tour of a property with, let's say, 200 scans…

Just started using this amazing platform with a theta v and had a successful shoot. The only complaint I have is the hosting part, as the photographer. While you can upload and view your first model for free, you can't share it with others. You have to show it in person, or give your login info to the person who wants to view it. Your forced to pay 9.99/mo just to unlock the ability to share. I don't have a problem with paying but this setup is counterintuitive for me. I want to share one free model, and SELL it to the customer. Allow us to sell a model to ANOTHER user, they see it, and click a "buy" button that automatically sets up their own hosting account, and gives them administrative access to the model. I design websites and webflow does this for their hosting. They let me use everything for free + share inorder to share with a buyer or client, and their back end makes it easy for me to hand off the site to the buyer instantly, it auto sets up their own hosting account and links the website to it. Webflow makes the money and I personally didn't have to pay out of pocket to earn them a new customer. Matterport should allow photographers to share our free scans with a client and sell it off, so I can keep re-using my 1 free space at a time with full sharing abilities so I can better sell 9.99 plans to clients.
This is game changer. Feel sorry for anyone that just bought the Pro2.
