  1. Facebook is the biggest destroyer of social life. People stopped living normal lives when that thing came to be. Even its predecessor was way better. My Space.

  2. I never had Facebook and I‘m happy about that. (I loved WhatsApp, now that it is under Facebook I wanna delete it. I also have Insta and I think it will be the only App that will remain)

  3. They are literally only doing this so they can be the only one to abuse your data for profit. Its not because they care about your security in the slightest. Same thing with facebook creating a "privacy" based social network… Instead of having all these company's abusing and interchangeably selling your data for profit. Now we are going to have walled gardens where only the platform itself will abuse your data for profit.

  4. I love seeing how people are saying how FB is the bad guy for taking the info from their device and Apple as a hero who's going to stop that big bad evil, after they have agreed on the term & condition when they open an account. FB, like any other company, has to have a way to get profit for the service they provide. Since people don't want to have to pay a fee for a timed subscription like onlyfans and other website, FB decide to gather information to sell it to the ads company to get the money that user aren't willing to pay them. Then the only right thing to do is for them to ask the iPhone user to pay for the service because they are NOt a charity company. Also, why does it matter to them so much that facebook collect their info? giving them specific ads on item that they might be interested in? I'd rather get a sh*t ton of ads on pc and phone than getting some p*rn ads on my phone.

p.s.: please don't act like you don't know that EVERY apps collect your data, even Google collect them. You will never be able to escape from them once you are online. Want to know about the world without getting your information data collected? read newspaper! and even you will still have to pay for it.

  5. Adds are how we pay for the services. Apple and facebook should let users decide how they want to pay for the apps. Don't forget Facebook does need to make money somehow. I just hope the internet doesn't become a thing that requires a credit card to work properly.

  6. Saying that Apple wants to protect your privacy is very naive. If Apple had made money off it I'm convinced they would see it differently, but you pay for their services and they already have their users locked in to Apple services. The reason Google doesn't challenge Facebook here is because it would challenge their business model too. I think legislation will be required for Google & Facebook to change their business model to a subscription model. The next version of Android will let you overview what sensors apps use and when and change what they are allowed to do which is good, but doesn't stop all tracking online.

  7. It's not a "threat" for Facebook to say they'll need to charge us if we tank their ad sales. They are a business. What, do you think those thousands of developers go to work every day to do the difficult work of creating and maintaining Facebook just as a gift to you? They need a valid business model.

If it's not going to be targeted ads, what will it be? So many of the services we use (including YouTube) use targeted ads as their business model. If we just nix this model, we have to realize they will need another way to feed their employees and exist. They can't do it for free.

  8. Lmao targeted adds are fine. Who cares. It's not so they can use your info "against" you. If I'm going to see adds, they may as well be relevant to me.

  9. I wonder who would win in a boycot battle. If Apple or Facebook removed the app from the app store, would people stop using Facebook? Or buy a different phone.

  10. in this area, i have to agree with Apple, APPLE is good guy here, and i hope other OS adopt this practice and feature !!! ( android user , tempted to switch side base on this alone )

  11. Tbh Facebook is getting old and cringe especially the messenger app it's shifting to more like marketing platform were you see alot of ads more than what links you and your interests that you choose to see.

  12. Great video but complete shittery for the title. I still would have clicked on the title if it had of said "how Apple wants to end Facebook". Please do better with titles cause it left a sour taste in my mouth and I'm less likely to view more of your videos.

  13. Considering how irresponsible Facebook is with people’s data and the information people receive I think what Apple is doing is great and right to do – they’re trying to protect their customers . Apple has every right to control the apps within their own ecosystem, so yes I think what they’re doing is legal too. Facebook doesn’t have a leg to stand on and if they’d been more responsible and less short-termist in their profits strategy they wouldn’t be in this situation now.
