Through guide dog Arabella and the smart glasses agent on my iPhone, I’m able to pretend I can see!

This is the fifth of a six video series I will be posting over the next couple of days you will not want to miss!

In four of the six videos I will be demonstrating me using my new artificial intelligent smart glasses called Aira. Since I will be filming my exciting adventure with my GoPro camera strapped to my chest, you won’t unfortunately be able to see the glasses on my face, but through these videos you will get a glimpse into how amazing they are, and how they can be an incredible…

  1. that voice on the phone certainly needs an overhaul. the dog is better trained. ah why cant we just have leonard nimoy's voice. or james earl jones or robert stack. the phone voice needs to slow it down quite a bit.

  2. Hey Joy, another great shopping video. I love watching you and Arabella shop. I know it can be stressful with no one with you to help but your confidence and positive attitude always prevails. I'm always impressed. I love you and I love our friendship. I always wish I was with you to shop and help you. We'll talk later today. I love how we met on here a few months ago and found each other. Love your heart ♡:-) I've learned so much since we met!!!
I would love to be your eyes. If I lived near you we would have a blast laughing lol, would be awesome! 🙂

  3. You use your phone so fast even though you can't see (and the screen is black). It's amazing how they've worked out a system that works so sell through audio once your used to it.

  4. In The beginning of the video when you were trying to connect to Ira, you could of used be my eyes it would’ve saved you a lot of time. Maybe the connection would’ve been better or if it wasn’t it could’ve still been a second option for back up

  5. Kudos to you for going shopping…..love it AND your great companion! Nice job from the guy on the phone who helped you…really interesting profession! I agree with one of your other viewers…..sales woman did do a lot of pointing. I'm really learning a lot from you….THANKS!

  6. OMG ARE YOU AT THE VANCOUVER MALL?!???!
I can’t believe it!!! I hope I get to meet you one day. I would love to say hi and give you a huge hug!!!! I live here by the mall!

  7. Thank you for showing how you use your phone to get help with directions. So great to see technology helping people. It would be such an honor to work for an organization like that to know that you can help people gain more independence .

  8. you lady with such a soothng voice and so much power just gave me reasons to stay alive. Not looking for attention, just wanna say you´re doing awesome & you got yourself a well aware fan. Ty Joy Ross, ty very much,.

  9. I'm hard of hearing and can appreciate different assistive technology and services.
What you shared with us was so cool and very helpful. Happy for you. Thank you for sharing part of your day.

  10. I know that mall! I won't say where it is because I havent seen enough of your videos to know if it is in your hometown or if you have shared general location information. But I worked with individuals with intellectual disabilities and spent a lot of time on outings to this mall. Small world.

  11. I had no idea technology like that existed for blind people. That's so cool and futuristic. It makes me excited for what the future holds for disability accessibility. Makes me hopeful about all the cool stuff that's yet to come.

  12. Stores should really have some sort of audible message playing as you walk in the store that welcomes people into the store, and says the store name. I feel like it would help you out a lot. I love watching your videos, it's very cool what you're doing. It will help me be a better helper when a blind person asks for help.

  13. There’s my Arabella working hard with her mama she’s so PUPPYLICOUS PUPPY DOG I WANT SOMETHING SOFT TO HOLD ON TO AND RUB THAT SOFT WARM PUPPYLICOUS PUPPY BELLY AND THOSE SOFT FLOPPY PUPPYLICOUS PUPPY EARS RIGHT NOW

  14. The struggle for you is real and I have to tell you Joy from what I see of you on YouTube navigating through malls and stores while holding a leash, a phone, a GoPro and shopping bags all while blind, I have to say you are doing an excellent job and your camera aim is perfect so we all see what u want us to see. I am just amazed at how you do this all and just still have a wonderful attitude. Girl if I was u I'd probably scream and throw a fit lol. I would totally help you I almost want to reach through the phone to tell you certain things or describe where u are when you are wanting to know what is around you. I just stumbled across you yesterday and I'm amazed at how you look and dress you look beautiful as if you had your eyesight. Your hair and your makeup is perfect and your clothes all match and love your silver jewelry bracelets. Super cute! Just wanted to say I love your videos stay positive!

  15. I love how you are pointing the camera forward so we can see your surroundings and where you're going. A lot of the other videos have
the camera pointing down at the ground which makes it somewhat difficult to see what's going on (although it's still fascinating to see
the dogs behavior). Absolutely love these videos, it's so interesting learning about these guide dogs and seeing their amazing abilities.

  16. What an amazing thing technology can be!! I'm so impressed by this system it's just phenomenal! You are an impressive woman with a fantastic disposition. Lots of love to you and your fur angel
