It's not just about seeing the pixels, even if you can't see the pixels the viewer experience is noticing a difference in resolution. A higher resolution look more real and sharp while the lower has a lower image quality. This is not only evident unless you can actually see the pixels, the object will change in colour and realism based on the resolution we not necessarily can spot.
